Could You Be Our Next St.Tropez Intern?

Posted on November 15, 2017 in News with 0 Comments

Yes, you read that right, St.Tropez are on the look-out for their next intern. Take a look into a typical day of our current Marketing Intern, Holly, to see if you think you’ve got what it takes!

What is your job role and how long have you been here?

I am a Marketing Intern for St.Tropez and have been here just over 3 months now.

What does a typical day look like for you?

It may sound cliché but no day is ever the same – the beauty industry is very fast paced and I am always faced with new, exciting things to do! I tend to start off my day by checking emails and replying to any comments or inboxes on our Social Media channels. My day may then consist of meetings with potential partners, working on a campaign for a social promotion or even creating and scheduling digital content. My role is extremely varied and I must be flexible enough to efficiently go from project to project on a daily basis.

How much responsibility have you been given?

Although you may think that interns are not given much responsibility, this is certainly not the case at St.Tropez. Be prepared to get very hands-on as your team will rely on you to carry out many important tasks! This could include finalising partnerships with brands such as Birchbox and Cosmpolitan or assessing competitor activity.

What’s the best thing about working for St.Tropez?

Besides the unlimited spray tans (yes I’m not kidding, we have a tanning room in our office), it would have to be the people. The office is a professional yet relaxed atmosphere to work and everyone is so friendly. I have also made really good friends with the other interns at the company.

What is the best part of your role?

I would say how diverse my team allows me to be – I am trusted with undertaking projects in all aspects of the brand rather than just marketing alone. I have created digital campaigns, assisted the NPD team in product testing and continuously work on our Social Media platforms.

What has been your best moment so far?

I have enjoyed every moment so far of my internship so it is really difficult to pick out my best moment. However if I had to choose one it would be when my first beauty box that I had worked on was sent into the office for us to see! It was a great feeling knowing that I had successfully initiated, developed and finalised all of the processes involved with having a St.Tropez product in the Good Housekeeping Beauty Edit – plus the box looked fab!

What has been your worst moment so far?

I wouldn’t really say that I have had a worst moment, when starting a new job there will always be ups and downs and of course it takes a while to fully get into the swing of things but my team were very patient with me until I found my feet. However… there was that one time the hair-care intern turned my hair white when we were product testing. Luckily it was easily fixed!

What is your favourite thing about your team?

My team are amazing! We aren’t the biggest team in the office but this means I have been able to get to know each individual member better, making working together a lot more relaxed and fun. I feel like I can approach them with any issues, concerns or general queries as they are very supportive to my role. All in all, they’re a great team to be a part of.

What projects have you recently been working on?

I was recently tasked with creating a brief for our Christmas Social Photoshoot that I would present to the rest of the team for approval – this included generating multiple ideas for themes we could use and finding props that we could buy to use at the shoot. After finalising the themes and securing the props I headed off to spend the day assisting in directing the shoot – here’s a sneak peak!
